Pune: A 26-year-old woman from Balaji Nagar has lodged a complaint at Sahakar Nagar Police Station after being cheated of ₹3.15 lakh by two individuals who promised to solve her pregnancy-related issues through black magic rituals.

The incident occurred between July 28 and September 9, 2025. Police identified the main accused as Girish Balbhim Surawase (36), a resident of Shastri Chowk on Alandi Road in Bhosari. His accomplice is currently absconding.

According to investigators, the victim’s friend, who has also gone missing, introduced her to Surawase and persuaded her to undergo his rituals. Surawase allegedly performed occult practices and gave the woman ritual ash (angara) mixed with sweets, claiming it would aid her condition.
