Pune Woman Hires Hitmen to Attack Fiancé, Attempts to Escape Arranged Marriage

Pune: In a shocking turn of events, a woman allegedly masterminded a violent attack on her fiancé to avoid an arranged marriage. The Pune police have arrested five individuals linked to the crime, while the prime accused, the bride-to-be, remains at large.

Bride Allegedly Hires Contract Killers to Assault Fiancé

The accused, Mayuri Sunil Dangde from Ahilyanagar, was engaged to Sagar Jayasingh Kadam from Mahi Jalgaon. Despite a pre-wedding photo shoot, she decided to call off the marriage. To ensure the relationship ended permanently, she allegedly conspired with her accomplice, Sandeep Gawde, and hired contract killers for ₹1.5 lakh.

Brutal Attack on the Pune-Solapur Highway

On February 27, Sagar, a hotel cook, was ambushed near Daund Taluka and brutally beaten with sticks, leaving him with a fractured leg and severe injuries to his head and back. The attack was reported to Yavat Police Station, prompting an immediate investigation.

“Five individuals attacked Sagar on the Pune-Solapur highway. Upon filing a police complaint, our investigation revealed that his fiancée had hired them to carry out the attack,” said a police official.

Five Arrested, Hunt for Bride Continues

Following a detailed probe, police arrested five suspects:

  • Aditya Shankar Dangde
  • Sandeep Dada Gawde
  • Shivaji Ramdas Jare
  • Suraj Digambar Jadhav
  • Indrabhanu Sakharam Kolpe

All accused are residents of Ahilyanagar. During interrogation, they confessed to their involvement, revealing that other accomplices were also part of the conspiracy.

Evidence Seized, Police Pursue Absconding Accused

Authorities have seized a white Verna car used during the attack. The arrested suspects face charges under IPC Sections 109, 61(2), and 126(2). Meanwhile, police teams are actively searching for Mayuri Dangde, who remains on the run.
