Pune: 22-Year-Old Woman Dies By Suicide After Dowry Harassment; Husband and Sister-in-Law Arrested From Parbhani
In a tragic incident in Wakad, Pimpri Chinchwad, a 20-year-old woman named Shivani Gopal Sharma took her own life after her husband could not buy her a new mobile phone. The incident occurred around 7 PM on Thursday.
Shivani had reportedly been asking her husband, Gopal Sharma, who works at a private company, for a new mobile phone for the past few months. However, due to financial constraints, Gopal was unable to fulfill her request despite his efforts. Left alone at home without a phone, Shivani’s frustration reportedly grew, leading her to take the extreme step of hanging herself while her husband was away.
When Gopal returned home from work, he discovered his wife had committed suicide. The Wakad police confirmed that their investigation revealed Shivani used her mobile phone to hang herself.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
