In the first wave of the pandemic, Patil consulted with over 600 people, providing them with crucial information on ambulance services, hospital beds, and boosting their morale during a time of crisis. In the subsequent waves, he worked closely with the employees of the civil hospital, performing the last rites of 65 COVID-19 victims, who had been abandoned by their families due to fear of infection. Patil ensured that these individuals received dignified funerals, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic.

Patil’s commitment to social work didn’t stop there. He initiated a campaign, “Ek Muthi Anaaj ,” collecting grains from 80 societies across Pune. Over the past three and a half years, this initiative has collected over 1,70,000 kg of grains, benefiting 43 organizations, including orphanages and old-age homes, across Maharashtra. This endeavor has ensured that 700 children and senior citizens receive food every day for the past 1300 days.

The “Ek Muthi Anaaj” campaign has become a beacon of hope for many underprivileged individuals, providing them with a steady supply of food. Patil’s team collects grains from generous donors on the third or fourth Sunday of every month, sorting and distributing them to those in need. This initiative has not only helped alleviate hunger but has also fostered a sense of community and social responsibility among the residents of Pune.

In addition to the Bharat Bhushan Samman 2024 award, Patil has also been honored with the International Inspiring Human Award, a testament to his global recognition as a champion of social causes.

The Bharat Bhushan Samman 2024 award was presented to him by Padmashri Dr. Vijay Kumar Shah. Patil’s story is an inspiration to many, and his selfless work has made a significant impact on the lives of countless individuals.
