Pune: Cabinet Minister Chandrakant Patil has proposed dividing Pune into two municipal corporations, citing the city’s increasing political, social, and geographical challenges. Speaking at a dialogue event organized by the Pune Shramik Patrakar Sangh, Patil stressed the urgency of this move, warning that delays could further complicate the city’s governance and development.

“Given Pune’s current urban dynamics, managing it under a single municipal corporation is no longer feasible,” Patil stated. He also highlighted the rapid development initiatives being undertaken by the Mahayuti Government to enhance infrastructure and improve civic services.

The event brought together newly elected Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) from Pune City, including prominent leaders such as Minister of State Madhuri Misal. It served as a platform to address critical issues affecting the region. Patrakar Sangh President Sunit Bhave and General Secretary Minakshi Gurav were also present.
