New Delhi– In an unprecedented move to boost citizen engagement and support a charitable cause, Rashtrapati Bhavan will auction a selection of gifts presented to the President and former Presidents of India. The auction will take place on a new online portal called E-Upahaar, launched by President Droupadi Murmu on July 25, 2024, marking her second anniversary in office.

The first phase of the auction will feature around 250 unique and exquisite gifts. Bidding will open on August 5 and close on August 26, 2024. After the bidding period ends, the highest bidders will receive their items.

Participants can place their bids on the E-Upahaar portal by following a simple process. They need to enter their profile details, complete Aadhaar verification, place bids on their desired items, regularly monitor their bid status, and aim to be the highest bidder. Payments can be made through various online modes.

“This initiative not only allows citizens to own a piece of history but also serves a greater purpose,” said a spokesperson from Rashtrapati Bhavan. “All proceeds from the auction will be donated to help children in need.”

The items up for auction will be available for public viewing at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum. Interested visitors can book tickets through the Rashtrapati Bhavan website and visit the museum from Tuesday to Sunday, between 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM.

The E-Upahaar portal is expected to draw significant interest from collectors and the general public alike, offering a unique opportunity to acquire memorabilia while contributing to a noble cause.
