Pune: Residents in Wadgaon Sheri have expressed deep concern and frustration regarding the noise pollution caused by the software company on October 19 at 7 p.m. This loud noise has become a serious nuisance and a source of harassment for the residents.

As per information, despite numerous requests to lower the volume, the company has ignored the residents’ pleas. The noise pollution has disrupted the tranquility of the neighborhood and has had detrimental effects on the physical and mental well-being of the residents.

As per the information received, the problems caused by noise pollution include sleep disturbance, health issues, disruption in daily activities, a reduced quality of life, and legal violations. The loud music, especially during the late hours, has made it impossible for many residents to have a peaceful night’s sleep. Prolonged exposure to such high noise levels has raised concerns about potential health problems such as stress, anxiety, and hearing damage. The constant noise has made it increasingly difficult for residents to focus on their daily activities, including work and studies.

Furthermore, the activities of the Software Company are in violation of noise pollution regulations and local bylaws. Senior citizens and migraine patients have been particularly affected by this nuisance. The company must address this problem and take immediate measures to reduce noise pollution to a tolerable level. The residents of Wadgaon Sheri near D Mart demand prompt action from the police and authorities.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Rachna Agarwal, a resident added, ”Residents in the vicinity are facing significant challenges due to the excessive volume of music played by the company from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. This loud noise surpasses acceptable decibel levels and has resulted in various issues such as difficulty concentrating, health problems, and disturbances in sleep patterns. It is imperative that immediate action be taken to address this matter.”

Monica Sharma, another resident, has expressed her concerns regarding the noise pollution. She highlights that the company’s actions have violated noise pollution regulations, subjecting residents to unimaginable distress. In order to fulfill their responsibilities as a corporate entity, the company should embrace Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. These initiatives should not only aim to mitigate the negative impact of their operations but also contribute to the community by investing in noise reduction measures and promoting a healthier and more tranquil living environment. It is crucial for the company to acknowledge its social obligations and strive to become a positive influence in our neighbourhood, ensuring the well-being of both residents and their brand image.

Aditya Patil, another resident, expresses his dismay over the blatant disregard for noise pollution regulations. The incessant noise, which exceeds permissible limits, has caused significant distress and disrupted the daily lives of residents, resulting in sleep deprivation and severe anguish. It is disheartening to witness a company that should prioritize corporate social responsibility neglecting the welfare of its neighbours. This behaviour contradicts the very essence of CSR, which aims to enhance the quality of life within the community. The company must acknowledge its obligations not only as a business but also as a responsible member of our neighborhood. They should promptly take action to rectify this distressing situation.

Despite numerous complaints, the police failed to provide satisfactory answers. The company has been disturbing residents without adhering to any norms. The police should have denied permission from the beginning. It is imperative that a strict decibel limit be followed. The police should take action against people and companies causing noise pollution. Notices should be issued, and heavy fines should be imposed for violating laws.
