Rs.2,100 Pending for Ladki Bahin: Some Applications Still Pending, When Will the Increased Installment Be Released?
The Mahayuti alliance, which secured voter support by promising an increased monthly benefit under the Ladki Bahin Yojana, is now under scrutiny to deliver on its manifesto commitment. During the election campaign, Mahayuti pledged to raise the scheme’s payout from ₹1500 to ₹2100. Beneficiaries eagerly await the formation of the new government to see this promise fulfilled.
Progress and Challenges in the Scheme
As of October, three installments of the Ladki Bahin Yojana have been credited to eligible women’s accounts. However, new applications and approvals were halted due to the enforcement of the election code of conduct. With the code now lifted, pending applications are being processed.
In Trimbak taluka alone, 45,217 women applied for the scheme, surpassing initial estimates of 42,000 beneficiaries. Of these, 500 applications remain pending, along with additional submissions made during the final days of the enrollment window.
Currently, 45,000 women have already received benefits, highlighting the scheme’s widespread reach and popularity.
Ajit Pawar’s Assurance
During an election rally, Ajit Pawar assured voters that the scheme would continue under the Mahayuti government. He contrasted the alliance’s commitment to the program with the opposition, cautioning that the latter might terminate the initiative. This reassurance played a crucial role in garnering strong support from women voters.
Beneficiaries Await Action
Despite the positive progress, many beneficiaries express frustration over delays in receiving the promised ₹2100 installments. With the government formation expected by December 5, disbursements initially anticipated for December 1 are now delayed, leaving many women disappointed.
The Ladki Bahin Yojana remains a cornerstone of Mahayuti’s governance agenda, and its timely implementation will be key to maintaining public trust.
