Samruddhi Expressway Toll Increase: Here’s How Much You’ll Pay from April 1
The expressway, designed to reduce travel time between Mumbai and Nagpur to just eight hours, is already functional between Nagpur and Igatpuri.
From April 1, 2025, toll rates on the Samruddhi Expressway, which connects Mumbai and Nagpur, will rise by 19%, according to the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). This change will impact commuters using the 701-kilometer expressway.
The expressway, designed to reduce travel time between Mumbai and Nagpur to just eight hours, is already functional between Nagpur and Igatpuri.
The final segment, connecting Igatpuri to Amne, is expected to open soon. Once fully operational, it will provide a faster travel route, but the new toll rates will come with higher costs for vehicle owners.
The updated toll charges per kilometer are as follows:
- · ₹2.06 for light motor vehicles
- · ₹3.32 for light commercial vehicles
- · ₹6.97 for heavy vehicles with two axles
- · ₹7.60 for heavy vehicles with three axles
- · ₹10.93 for heavy construction machinery
- · ₹13.30 for oversized vehicles with seven or more axles
With these revised tolls, light vehicles traveling from Nagpur to Igatpuri will now pay ₹1,290, up from ₹1,080. Toll rates for light commercial vehicles, such as mini-buses, will rise from ₹1,745 to ₹2,075, while two-axle trucks and buses will see their tolls increase from ₹3,655 to ₹4,355.
The toll for three-axle commercial vehicles will jump from ₹3,990 to ₹4,750, and for heavy construction machinery, it will rise from ₹5,740 to ₹6,830. Extra-heavy vehicles will now pay ₹8,315, up from ₹6,980.
While the final 76 km stretch between Igatpuri and Amane is yet to open, travelers can currently access the 625 km stretch of the expressway. Once completed, the full expressway will reduce the journey time between Nagpur and Thane from 16 hours to just 8 hours.
