Shatrughan Sinha explains the absence of his sons, Luv and Kussh, at the wedding of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal

Sonakshi Sinha married Zaheer Iqbal in a private ceremony at their Bandra home on June 23. However, her brothers, Luv Sinha and Kussh Sinha, were not present for the occasion. Shatrughan Sinha has now addressed their absence from Sonakshi’s wedding.

“I won’t complain. They are only humans. They maybe still not be so mature. I do understand their pain and confusion. There is always a cultural reaction. Maybe, if I was their age, I might have had a similar reaction to it. But, here is where your maturity, seniority, and experience come in place. Hence, my reaction was not as extreme as my sons,” this is what the veteran actor had to say.

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal maintained a low profile regarding their relationship for several years before finally getting married  in an intimate ceremony at the actress’s home in Mumbai. Their official marriage was celebrated with a glamorous reception that saw the presence of Bollywood luminaries such as Salman Khan, Huma Qureshi, Rekha, and Kajol.

There were previous speculations about Shatrughan Sinha’s dissatisfaction with his daughter’s inter-faith marriage, but he has shown strong support for her. He is now genuinely pleased and has given his blessings to the couple.

Sinha emphasized that in today’s era of women’s empowerment, it is perfectly acceptable for a girl to select a partner based on her own preferences.

“Of course, I will support my daughter. I don’t have any reason not to. It’s their life and their wedding. They have to lead a life. If they are sure about each other, who are we to be against it? As parents and as a father, it was my duty to support her. Not like she did anything illegal. She was mature. I was enjoying her wedding parties. I was so overjoyed meeting and greeting people. They (Sonakshi and Zaheer) looked very beautiful together,” he adds.
