Meanwhile, ongoing intermittent snowfall in the higher elevations of Himachal Pradesh’s tribal Lahaul and Spiti district has heightened the cold conditions in the surrounding valleys.

The meteorological department predicted additional snowfall and rainfall in certain isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh.

Winter chills are anticipated in various regions, such as Lahaul and Spiti, Chamba, Kinnaur, Kangra, Shimla, and Kullu, as the IMD forecasts rain and moderate snowfall. Additionally, light precipitation is likely in parts of Solan, Sirmaur, Una, Bilaspur, Mandi, and Hamirpur districts through Monday.`

The minimum temperature fell several degrees throughout the state, leaving the high-altitude tribal regions struggling with the intense cold. Tabo experienced a low of minus 13.1 degrees Celsius, while Kukumseri recorded minus 6.9 degrees, Kalpa saw minus 3.3 degrees, Reckong Peo reached minus 1 degree, and Narkanda noted minus 0.8 degree.

The mercury remained near the freezing mark in several locations. Seobagh reported a low of zero degrees Celsius, while Bajaura recorded 0.1 degrees, Manali 0.2 degrees, Kufri 0.4 degrees, Solan 0.5 degrees, Una 1 degree, and Shimla 2.5 degrees.

Light rain and snow are anticipated in various locations across the mid and high hills on Tuesday. In the coming three days, numerous areas within the state may see a gradual decrease in both minimum and maximum temperatures by 3 to 4 degrees.

The meteorological department has released a ‘yellow’ warning for thick fog impacting specific regions near the Bhakra dam reservoir in Bilaspur and Balh Valley in Mandi, lasting until Wednesday. Current temperatures are noted at 0.5 degrees in Solan, 1 degree in Una, and 2.5 degrees in Shimla.
