Two minors have been detained by the Pimpri-Chinchwad police in relation to the death of their teenage friend, who also posted a status update about the incident on social media.
Reports of the incident began at about 11:30 p.m. on Monday, and the two were taken into custody by the police on Tuesday. One of the minors was previously booked in a body offence case that was filed at the Chakan Police Station, according to the police record. The two, sixteen and seventeen years old, were from the same community.
The police said that the two people in custody got into a heated argument with the deceased 17-year-old in 2021. On Monday, the three got together and spent the day together. After a furious nighttime argument, the two struck the man’s head with a stone, injuring him so badly that he passed away.
One of the accused recorded his own video from the crime scene after the murder and revealed how he had killed his friend before uploading it to the internet. After seeing the status, one of the minor’s common friends informed the victim’s family, who then called the police.
On Tuesday morning, the two minors were taken into custody from the Khed area.
