Pune: An incident has come to light wherein a Mumbai police constable was expelled from the force due to allegations of engaging in a live-in relationship with a married woman and betraying her trust.
As per the information provided, constable Somnath Angule’s behaviour, while serving in the Local Arms division in Tardeo, central Mumbai, had breached service regulations and tarnished the reputation of the police force.
As per the information received, Angule, during his tenure at JJ police station in 2019, engaged in a relationship with a married woman and subsequently began living with her. Additionally, the constable made the woman pregnant and promised to marry her. Furthermore, he confirmed their live-in relationship by signing a stamp paper. After discovering that he had broken her trust, the woman reported the matter to higher-ranking police officials, resulting in his suspension. He was eventually reinstated and relocated to the Tardeo division of the Local Arms unit. After the investigation concluded, he was dismissed from his position, according to the official.
