Pune – Shri Mahalaxmi Devi, the revered deity at Sarasbaug Temple, has once again been adorned with a magnificent 16-kilogram gold saree. This saree, crafted by skilled artisans from South India nearly 23 years ago, is draped around the idol twice a year by the Shri Bansilal Ramnath Agarwal Religious and Cultural Trust. The tradition takes place on the occasion of Vijayadashami, organized by the temple administration.
The temple’s founding trustee, Rajkumar Agarwal, along with chief trustee Amita Agarwal, trustees Adv. Pratap Paradeshi, Dr. Tripti Agarwal, Bharat Agarwal, Praveen Chorbele, Hemant Arnalkar, and Narayan Kabra were present for the occasion. The saree, which took approximately six months to create, was donated by a devotee and features intricate designs crafted into the gold fabric. Each year, this golden attire attracts thousands of devotees eager to witness the goddess adorned in this spectacular saree. This year large crowds gathered to catch a glimpse of the adorned deity.
