Special Program on 68th Remembrance Day of Shanti Sagar Maharaj held in Pune

Pune: The Jain Community in Pune conducted a program on the occasion of the 68th remembrance day of Shanti Sagar Maharaj, the first Acharya of the 20th Century on September 18 (Monday) in the Sus area, Pune.

Informing about the programme, Chandrakant Patil, Sakal Jain Samaj Trust President, Pune, said that the Jain Community in Pune has been organizing this program for the last 6 years in Pune for truth, non-violence, vegetarianism, de-addiction, agriculture and revival of Indian culture & also to commemorate the legacy & work of Shanti Sagar Maharaj.

As per further information from Chandrakant Patil, the program began at 7:30 am with Shobha Yatra with drum troupe, buggy, silver grand chariot. Children were also a part of this program.

It started at Sus Jain Temple, concluding at Vento Society, Partha Jainam, Shantinath Ratnatraya Temple. The program has been organized every year for the last 6 years. Even if it rains a lot, everybody takes part in this program with the same level of energy and enthusiasm.

The events of the program were Abhishek, Pooja, Bhajans and lectures on Shanti Sagar Maharaj’s biography and social awareness. The program concluded at 1 pm followed by lunch for everyone.

The program was graced with around 500 people.

The organizers of the program were Sakal Jain Samaj, Sus, Pune Trust and Jain Sangh, Pune, Sakal Jain Samaj Trust President Chandrakant Prakash Patil, Jain Sangh Pune President Annaso Bhupal Patil.
