Pune : PMPML to ply extra buses for Ganeshotsav

Pune: As the city is decked up gloriously on the auspicious occasion of Ganeshotsav, people from nearby suburbs and villages visit to seek blessings from the deity. Hence, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) has planned to start extra buses in the city.
As per information from PMPML, for the convenience of the commuters, just like every year, this year also the PMPML has from 19/09/2023 to 28/09/2023 has planned 168 extra buses in the first phase i.e. from 20/09/2023 to 21/09/2023 and 27/09/2023. For the second phase i.e. from 22/09/2023 to 26/09/2023 and 28/09/2023, 654 extra buses have been planned for the Ganesh festival.
· Special bus service will be provided during this period according to the passenger rush at the stands for the convenience of citizens. For the list check the below tables
· Daily operation of the buses will be closed after 10:00 pm during Ganeshotsav and buses running after 10:00 pm will be operated as Yatra special.
· For bus services after 10:00 p.m., an additional fare of Rs 5 will be levied in the prevailing fare.
· Since this night bus service offered during the Ganeshotsav period is a special bus service, the pass discount has been kept for all pass holders till midnight. After that, no passes will work.
· During the Ganeshotsav period, the roads in the city division are kept closed by the police department in the evening. Therefore, the bus service inside the city will be continued by alternative routes.

On 28/09/2023, Swargate Chowk will be closed due to the Ganesh Visarjan procession. Hence, the following bus stops at Swargate Chowk are temporarily transferred:

· Additional buses will continue to operate only till 2:00 am.
· From 22/09/2023 to 28/09/2023, additional buses will commute from Swargate to Nigdi as per the demand of passengers.
During the Ganeshotsav period, extra buses will be operated as above for the convenience of Ganesh devotees. Also, the main roads of the city will be closed for bus traffic and in order to avoid inconvenience to the passengers, the route of the buses plying on Shivaji Road, Bajirao Road, Lakshmi Road, Tilkar Road will be changed as necessary during the day. It is being done by the PMPML.
