Start 2 new ITI’s in Pune: Announces Ajit Pawar

State government to halt Wakad project due to alleged irregularities: Dy CM Ajit Pawar
Mumbai, Sep 6 : In view of large-scale industrial development happening in and around Pune that could create employment opportunities for local youths, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Wednesday ordered two new government-run Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) at Yerawada and Haveli in Pune district.
He gave this direction while reviewing the Skill Development Department in Mantralaya here.
This organisation has been allotted five acres of land at Lohgaon, he said and asked officials to prepare a plan for construction of an administrative building and workshop in this area.
The Deputy Chief Minister further said that instructions be given to the district collectors for provision of funds required for construction of buildings from the District Annual Plan, as this institution falls under the general category.
He further said that courses useful for local industries should be started in Yerawada and Haveli ITIs in Pune district.
“Instead of teaching traditional courses to students in these industrial training institutes in the Pune area, courses like robotics, CNC machine handling, mechanics should be made available under Industry 4.0 based on modern technology and considering local needs,” he noted.
This could create many jobs in industries in the area, he said.
Pawar also gave an instruction to initiate the process of immediate filling up of urgent posts among the sanctioned posts for ITIs.
