The Supreme Court on Wednesday stayed the arrest of former IAS probationary officer Puja Khedkar, who has been accused of cheating in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2022.

A bench comprising Justices B.V. Nagarathna and Satish Chandra Sharma issued notices to the Delhi Police and the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Khedkar’s plea for anticipatory bail. The court directed that no coercive action be taken against her until the next hearing, scheduled for February 14.

Khedkar is alleged to have misrepresented details in her UPSC application to claim reservation benefits. She has denied the allegations and sought legal protection through her petition.
