Tehsildars Directed To Submit Draft Delimitation Plan For Zilla Parishads, Panchayat Samitis By July 14
Pune, July 2, 2025: The district administration has issued instructions to tehsildars to prepare a draft delimitation plan for the Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis. Formal orders regarding the same have also been released. The draft plan must be submitted to the district administration by July 14 .
Following the Supreme Court’s directive to conduct elections for local self-governing bodies, the State’s Urban Development and Rural Development departments have released schedules for constituency delimitation. The Rural Development Department had already issued orders for the structuring of groups and wards for the Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis.
In accordance with these orders, all tehsildars in the district have started working on the draft delimitation plans, considering local population, geographic conditions, and reservation criteria. Coordination Officer Charushila Deshmukh confirmed that the deadline to submit these draft plans is July 14 .
Once all talukas submit their drafts, the district administration will review and make necessary corrections. The revised drafts will then be published on the notice boards of the District Collector’s office, Panchayat Samitis, and official websites.
Suggestions and objections can be submitted to the District Collector until July 21. After considering the objections, proposals along with the Collector’s remarks will be forwarded to the Divisional Commissioner, who will hold hearings on them before finalizing.
Draft Plans For Municipal Councils By July 25
According to the district administration, municipal councils must submit their draft delimitation plans between July 25 and 29 , while nagar panchayats have been instructed to do so between July 30 and August 6 .
