Tesla Inc. is making significant strides to enter the Indian market, announcing 13 job openings across Mumbai and Delhi. This development follows a recent meeting between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the US. The roles include customer-facing positions such as service technicians and advisory roles, along with back-end jobs like customer engagement managers and delivery operations specialists.

This move comes after India reduced import duties on luxury vehicles, a change that could benefit Tesla. While India’s electric vehicle (EV) market is smaller compared to China’s, the country offers substantial growth opportunities for the EV manufacturer.

Tesla’s renewed interest in India follows diplomatic discussions between PM Modi, Musk, and US President Donald Trump. Despite India’s EV market reaching nearly 100,000 electric car sales last year, compared to China’s 11 million units, it remains an attractive avenue for Tesla as it looks to boost its sales amid global decline.
