Pune: The Pune Traffic Branch has acknowledged increasing traffic congestion at ABC Farms Chowk and NIBM Chowk, Salunke Vihar in Kondhwa and is working on solutions to ease vehicular movement in these high-traffic zones.

Current Traffic Issues

  • ABC Farms Chowk and NIBM Chowk experience severe congestion due to high vehicle density, bottlenecks, and lack of alternate routes.
  • The rapid urban development in these areas has led to a surge in traffic, causing frequent delays and commuter inconvenience.
  • Irregular parking and lack of traffic discipline contribute to gridlocks during peak hours.

Temporary Traffic Changes on Salunkhe Vihar road and NIBM Chowk:

No Entry to vehicles coming from Samvidhan chowk to ABC Farms chowk
(Alternate Route: Vehicles can use Oxford village and Kedari Petrol pump road to their destination)

No Entry to vehicles coming from Salunke Vihar road to NIBM Chowk Via Amba Vatika
(Alternate Route: Vehicles can use road near Kubera Garden to go to their destination)

Planned Traffic Management Measures

To address these issues, the traffic department is considering:

  • Improved traffic signal coordination to ensure smoother vehicle flow.
  • Strict enforcement of parking regulations to prevent obstructions.
  • Potential road widening and lane restructuring in key congestion points.
  • Deployment of additional traffic personnel to regulate movement during peak hours.

Public Cooperation Urged

Authorities have requested motorists and residents to follow traffic guidelines and avoid illegal parking to help reduce congestion. The traffic department is also exploring long-term infrastructural solutions to improve connectivity in these high-traffic zones.
