Tragic Accident at Sayajiraje Water Park in Akluj: Tourist Dies After Ride Collapse | Video
Solapur, June 18, 2025 — A serious accident occurred at Sayajiraje Water Park in Akluj, Solapur district, leading to the death of a tourist and injuries to several others. The water park is reportedly owned by Jaysingrao Mohite Patil, brother of former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Vijaysingh Mohite Patil.
According to local police and eyewitnesses, the incident took place when a swing ride collapsed during operation. The sudden mechanical failure caused several riders to fall, resulting in the immediate death of one tourist and injuries to others. The deceased has been identified as Tushar Dhumal, a businessman from Bhigwan. Two other individuals sustained minor injuries.
Both the deceased and injured were visitors from the Malshiras taluka. The accident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Akluj Police Station, and officers were quick to respond to the scene.
The swing was reportedly spinning at high speed when one of the sections broke off and crashed to the ground. Officials have not yet confirmed the exact cause of the malfunction, but an investigation is currently underway.
Authorities are also reviewing the park’s safety protocols and maintenance records to determine whether there was any negligence involved.
This tragic incident has sparked serious concerns over safety measures in amusement and water parks across the state.
