He highlighted the ongoing projects in the district, such as Pune Metro, Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Marg, Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Marg, Pune-Miraj railway line, and the extended airport at Lohegaon, as crucial for the city’s development. Furthermore, the central government has introduced several schemes for the welfare of the general public.

It is imperative to expedite the implementation of these schemes, aiming to achieve the set targets by January-February 2024, rather than waiting until the end of the financial year. The administration should actively involve local public representatives in the decision-making process and consider their suggestions while carrying out development projects.

The successful implementation of various public welfare schemes, such as the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, AMRUT, computerized Satbara, Pune Metro, Har Ghar Jal, Kisan Credit Card, Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme- MNREGA, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, and Deendayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana is commendable.

Efforts are being made under the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ scheme to increase the sources of water and provide clean drinking water to everyone, as well as to change the distribution system as per the requirement. Deshmukh, the Pune District Collector stated that if everyone works together, Pune district will serve as a guide for the country in the implementation of schemes.

Implementation of various public welfare schemes and development projects of the central and state governments and a monthly review is being conducted department-wise. The state government has taken an important decision to provide crop insurance to farmers at Re 1, which has been implemented in the district. Land acquisition is being completed expeditiously for infrastructure development projects such as Palkhi Marg, Railway Line, and Pune Ring Road, among others.
