Viral 'Flying BMW' Clip Sparks Urgent Safety Measures on Gurugram's Golf Course Road
A few days after a video went viral showing cars “flying” over a speed breaker on Golf Course Road in Gurugram, authorities took action and put up a warning sign. The video, shared on X, depicted a speeding BMW hitting the newly installed speed breaker and becoming airborne for more than a second, reaching a height of at least three feet before landing about 15 feet away. It also showed two trucks approaching the unmarked speed breaker and also getting airborne after hitting it. Many people gathered at the location to film the speed breaker.
In response to the criticism, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) announced late Tuesday that they have installed a cautionary sign reading “Speed Breaker Ahead.” They also indicated that they have marked the speed breaker with white thermoplastic paint to improve visibility at night and assist drivers in navigating the area “safely.”
Golf Course Road is known for its upscale residential developments, including DLF Camellias, Tulip Monsella, Golf Estate at M3M, and DLF Magnolias.
