Viral Initiative: Karnataka Police Makes Drivers Listen to Their Own Loud Horns

This initiative has gained significant public interest and has received a lot of positive feedback from users online.
X users had a strong reaction to the tactic, viewing it as a necessary lesson for drivers who often use loud horns unnecessarily. One user remarked, “This is how you teach unruly drivers a lesson—by making them experience their own noise. Great job by the Traffic Police! Now, how about doing the same for those using blinding high beam headlights?”
Others praised the police for their proactive approach, with one user saying, “What a way to teach a lesson! This is exactly what we need; otherwise, the public will never change their behavior. Good job by this police officer, and this should be done nationwide.”
However not everyone agreed with the direct approach of policing drivers. Some users pointed out that the issue goes beyond just ticketing individuals. One user suggested, “Policing will never solve the issue. We need to address the root cause of the problem. We should either fine and ban the manufacturers of such horns or penalize the institutions and transport authorities, not just the drivers. Stringent measures are needed, not just targeting every vehicle.”
There were also calls for a more comprehensive crackdown. One comment highlighted, “Great move by the police! People start honking at signals! There are two main issues—unscientific horns and unnecessary honking! This should include all vehicles, not just buses. Reducing noise pollution shouldn’t be a one-time effort; it needs to continue until this nonsense stops.”
