MUMBAI: A shocking video has gone viral on social media, showing a schoolgirl being violently attacked by a group of girls in the Yari Road area of Versova, Mumbai. The footage, which has sparked outrage online, shows the young girl being abused, beaten, and dragged near a puddle while bystanders and even the victim’s friend appear to do nothing to stop the assault.
Brutal Assault Caught on Camera
The video, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by activist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj, captures the brutal attack in broad daylight. In the footage, the schoolgirl is seen being mercilessly beaten by a group of other girls who punch, kick, and pull her hair. Despite her efforts to escape and seek help from her friend, the attackers relentlessly pursue her, eventually dragging her towards a puddle in an apparent attempt to throw her into dirty water.
Throughout the assault, no one comes to the victim’s aid, including a few boys who are seen watching the scene unfold without intervening. The video ends with the victim finally leaving with her friend, while the aggressors continue their abusive behavior.
Call for Justice
The video has drawn widespread condemnation from netizens, who are demanding strict action against the perpetrators. Activist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj, who posted the video, tagged the official Mumbai Police account on X, highlighting the need for immediate intervention and justice.
