Viral Video: TTE repeatedly slaps passenger over train ticket in Barauni-Lucknow Express
A Railway Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) on the Barauni-Lucknow Express has been suspended after an alarming incident involving an assault and humiliation of a passenger who was travelling without a ticket surfaced in Uttar Pradesh. Another passenger captured the whole thing on camera. The passenger was being questioned for not having a valid ticket by the TTE, and it was evident from the video that the TTE was beating, berating, and mistreating him.
As per further information from the X handle of a user called Rajesh Sahu “TTE is beating like this in Barauni-Lucknow Express (15203). Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, tell me, do these people have the freedom to beat like this? Are goons appointed as TTE? Why is this in the system? The video is clear, take action. And yes, stop considering people as insects. Seeing all this makes me angry.”
Additionally, it was seen that the TTE turned around and twice made eye contact with the passenger who was capturing the video of the incident. He even attempted to snatch the mobile phone out of the passenger’s hand when he realized the entire incident was being filmed out of fear of being caught on camera.
Inspecting the incident, the North Eastern Railway Division has responded on X “Taking immediate cognizance of the incident, the concerned TTE has been suspended with immediate effect.”
