In a significant step towards the realization of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir, the idol of Ram Lalla was ceremoniously brought inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple premises last night, aided by a crane. The iconic moment precedes the scheduled pran pratishtha ceremony, slated for 12:20 pm on January 22. The 51-inch-tall idol, meticulously crafted by sculptor Arun Yogiraj, is poised to be the focal point of the grand ceremony in Ayodhya.

Idol Selection and Craftsmanship:

The revered idol, created from Krishna Shila (black stone) sourced from Karnataka, was sculpted by Arun Yogiraj, based in Mysuru. Known for its durability and aesthetic appeal, Krishna Shila was chosen for its association with the region around Karkala in Karnataka. The 10-tonne stone, measuring 6 feet wide, 4 feet thick, and almost one foot long, was specifically transported from Nellikaru village in Karkala.

The idol, standing at 51 inches, portrays Ram Lalla in a balswaroop (infant) form, standing on a lotus, holding a bow in one hand and an arrow in the other. The meticulous carvings and intricate designs depict various symbols associated with Lord Ram, making it a masterpiece of craftsmanship.

Preparations in Ayodhya reached a crescendo as a flower-adorned truck transported Lord Ram’s idol to the temple. Amidst chants of “Jai Shri Ram,” the idol was ushered into the sanctum sanctorum during the early hours of Thursday. Before its installation, a special puja was conducted within the sanctum sanctorum, marking the auspicious moment.

The pran pratishtha ceremony, scheduled for January 22 at 12:20 pm, will witness the presence of several dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat.

Notable figures from various fields, such as cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, and industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, have been extended invitations to participate in the historic event.

As the nation eagerly awaits the culmination of this momentous journey, the pran pratishtha ceremony stands as a significant milestone in the realization of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.
