Virat Kohli, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, reclaimed the top spot to become India’s most valued celebrity, according to Kroll’s Celebrity Brand Valuation Report 2023.
He has surpassed Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh, boasting a brand value of $227.9 million in 2023. Kohli’s brand value has surged by 29% as he continues to dominate the endorsement landscape.
However, this value still falls short of his peak brand value of $237.7 million in 2020.
The report sheds light on intriguing patterns within the realm of celebrity endorsements, showcasing a notable uptick in the engagement of celebrities with brands.

With this, Ranveer Singh slipped to the second position with a brand value of $203.1 million, indicating a slight shift from his previous standing.
Shah Rukh Khan has made significant strides, ascending to the third position with a brand value of $120.7 million, which marks a substantial climb and highlights his enduring appeal and marketability.
Akshay Kumar slipped to the fourth spot, with a brand value assessment of $111.7 million, down from third place in 2022.
Similarly, despite continuing to be a prominent figure, Alia Bhatt secured a fifth position with a brand value of $101.1 million, dropping from fourth place in 2022.
MS Dhoni climbed to seventh place with a brand value of $95.8 million; whereas Sachin Tendulkar, the ‘Master Blaster’ of cricket, secured the eighth place with a brand value of $91.3 million. Among Indian cricketers, Dhoni ($95) and Tendulkar ($91) secured second and third position respectively.
