Pune:  Wakad police have arrested two individuals in the murder case of Suraj Kamble, who had gone missing after going out to consume alcohol with his friends at Thergaon on October 5. 

The accused individuals have been identified as Pankaj Pachpinde and Amardeep alias Lakhan Jogdand.

As per information, Kamble along with his friend Pachpinde and Jogdand were in Thergaon to consume alcohol on October 5, 2023. After meeting them, the victim did not return home. As a result, the victim’s wife filed a missing complaint at Wakad police station.  

The Wakad police started investigating the case and found out that the accused had turned off his phone. Suspecting that something was wrong, Ganesh Jawadwad, Senior Police Inspector, Wakad Police Station, ordered his subordinate investigation team officers Santosh Patil, and Sachin Chavan along with other police officers to conduct a thorough search for the missing person. 

Upon investigation with technical analysis and traditional investigation methods, the Wakad police found that Pankaj Pachpinde & Amardeep alias Lakhan Dashrath Jogdand were in Beed district. So, a team was immediately sent to Beed and both the accused were detained and brought to the police station for investigation.

During the investigation, both the accused admitted to their involvement in the crime. They revealed that on the day of the crime, the victim abused them verbally. In a fit of rage, they cut Kamble’s throat using a knife. Later,  they wrapped the body in a blanket and dumped it in a drain below the highway in Gaikwad Vasti, Bavdhan. After that, both of them were doing their regular work for two days as if nothing had happened.

The police have recovered the body.

A case has been registered at Wakad Police Station under Sections 302, 201, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation is being done by Wakad police.
