Wanowrie police apprehends eight individuals for possessing fraudulent arms licenses from Jammu and Kashmir 

PUNE: The Wanowrie police have apprehended eight individuals who were employed as security guards in possession of fraudulent arms licenses. 

It has been ascertained that the accused had procured these spurious licenses from Jammu and Kashmir.

The police have confiscated a country-made pistol, a 12-bore gun, 56 cartridges, and three counterfeit arms licenses from their possession. 

The deceased have been identified as Santosh Jainath Shukla (50), Bhagirathi Nagar, 17.30, Nali, Hadapsar, Native Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Ramprasad Budha Paswan (35), Panvel, Raigad, Native Uttar Pradesh, Rajesh Bablu Paswan (35), Dinesh Jagdish Paswan (54), Imran Mohammad Jimmy Khan (30), Andre Astor, Andy Murri, Andre Astor, Andreas Mohammad Bilal Mohammad Nisar (30 R Manjapur, Jammu & Kashmir), Jammu & Kashmir, Sahil Kumar Chaman Lal Sharma (25), Geetam DeshRai Sharma (23), a resident of Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir.

In July, Shukla was apprehended by a Wanowrie police team while patrolling the Ramtekdi area in Hadapsar. A country-made pistol was seized from him. During the investigation, he confessed to possessing a firearm and also divulged that his accomplices held arms licenses. The police have detained the security personnel who were employed at a toll plaza in the Talegaon Dabhade area.

An inquiry into the arms licenses was conducted, revealing that the licenses were signed by the District Magistrate of Jammu and Kashmir. The police have conducted a search of the accused’s residence, where they discovered a 12-bore gun, 56 cartridges, and three counterfeit arms licenses. 

The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of Senior Police Inspector Bhausaheb Patare of the Wanawadi police station.
