A heated exchange between a ticketless traveler and a passenger over a reserved seat on an Indian train has sparked online discussions, highlighting the issue of overcrowding and ticketless passengers.

A viral video showing an argument between two passengers on an Indian train has caught the attention of social media users, shedding light on the growing problem of ticketless travelers. Shared on X by user Ghar Ke Kalesh (@gharkekalesh), the clip features a man without a reserved ticket engaging in a heated dispute over a seat with a passenger who had booked it.

In the video, the man, traveling in a sleeper coach without a reservation, demands that the seated passenger move his leg so he can sit on the same berth. The passenger, seated on the Side Upper berth, refuses, leading to a verbal altercation. At one point, the ticketless man sarcastically asks if the passenger intends to take the seat home, to which the passenger responds by pointing out that he booked the seat in advance to travel comfortably.

The location of the incident remains unknown, but the clip has garnered over 920,000 views, sparking a conversation about the nuisance caused by overcrowded trains and passengers traveling without tickets.

It infuriates me every time I see someone without a ticket asking passengers who have paid for theirs to “adjust.” It’s unfair and disrespectful! Why should people who follow the rules have to make space for those who don’t? It’s maddening!” wrote one user.

“It’s a failure of the railway that people with or without a general ticket are easily managing to enter a reserved coach,” added another

“There should be more railway staff for taking actions against such people who travel without reservation and ask for a sit of the person who already has reserved it,” suggested another.

“Railways should take note and make strict rules abt against such practices,” commented fourth.

The video adds to the ongoing discourse about the state of Indian trains, with overcrowding and ticketless passengers being frequent complaints among travelers.
