The weather forecast from the Indian Meteorological Department for Pune is predicting mostly cloudy skies with some light to moderate rain until July 30. And in the ghat areas, there might be heavy to very heavy rain at certain spots until August 3.

The total water storage in the four dams in Khadakwasla circle, which provide water to the city, has reached 85.59% of their full capacity, holding 24.95 TMC of water as of Sunday.

The recent rainfall led the irrigation authorities to release water from the Khadakwasla dam upto 22000 cusecs on July 29 at 12 noon.

° Cleanliness Campaign.

Gurupith, Shri Kshetra Trimbakeshwar, Nashik (Dindori Pranit), and PMC worked together to collect 162 tons of garbage, clean 64 tons of silt, and remove 26 tons of branches. They used various equipment like JCBs, jetting machines, garbage trucks, compactors, bin lifters, and tippers to get the job done.

° Rescue Operations.

The swift actions taken by PMC to help those affected by the water entering their homes. Deploying eight boats for evacuation and bringing in two NDRF teams with 60 personnel, four boats, and an army column of 80 soldiers, doctors, and engineers with two boats for rescue operations.

° Volunteer Help.

Providing 791 volunteers, 16 doctors, 18,050 food packets, medicines, 2,000 sheets, 8,598 water bottles, and 1,000 sanitation kits.

° 26 Temporary Shelters.

The temporary shelter arrangements were set up at 26 locations for the rehabilitated citizens. Providing meals and snacks at these locations through the combined efforts of PMC, various social organizations and groups.
