Matheran witnessed a heavy influx of tourists over the weekend, as visitors thronged the popular hill station on Saturday and Sunday. As usual, traffic congestion along the ghat roads caused major inconvenience, forcing many tourists to walk from the second and third bends to the main entry point at Dasturi due to the lack of proper traffic management.

Adding to the experience, the area was blanketed in thick fog brought on by unseasonal rains, creating an illusion for many tourists of being surrounded by clouds. This unique atmosphere tempted several visitors to capture the moment with selfies, especially after arriving at the railway station.

Tourists were also mesmerized by the scenic views offered from various points in the region, describing the sight of mist-covered landscapes as breathtaking. Although the small waterfall at Charlotte Lake hasn’t yet begun to overflow, visitors thoroughly enjoyed getting drenched in the unexpected showers, making the most of their misty Matheran getaway.
