On October 14, Saurabh Govil, Wipro’s Chief Human Resources Officer, announced that employees will be expected to work from the office three days a week. He also indicated that there will be opportunities for employees to request remote work on certain days throughout the year.

Under the newly introduced “New Hybrid Work Policy,” Wipro employees can take advantage of an additional 30 days of remote work flexibility. To utilize this benefit, employees must obtain approval from their managers. This option is available under two particular conditions:

1. 15 days for employees who are unwell

2. 15 days for caregiving when a family member is ill.

Govil shared these details regarding the new policy on LinkedIn.

“At Wipro, we have taken a modern approach to the future of work – one that focuses equally on the well-being of our associates while being a high performing culture, driven by collaboration. Our hybrid work arrangement is rooted in:

1. Collaboration: Meaningful collaboration leads to innovation and success. Our approach encourages in-person interactions.

2. Flexibility: We empower our associates to balance their professional and personal needs as they manage work–life integration.

3. Sensitive to & Inclusive of Special Needs: Life’s unpredictability may need additional support. We commit to accommodate special needs of our associates, as they tide over moments that matter or require reasonable accommodation.

4. Trust: We trust our associates to do their best work, as they hold themselves accountable,” says his post on Linkedin.

He also states that their hybrid work model is modern and exemplary. Wipro anticipates that employees will be present in the office three days a week, selecting these days according to their collaboration needs. Additionally, the policy allows employees to request remote work for designated days throughout the year, whether for personal care or to support the recovery of family members.

“Wipro believes in a flexible work approach, with the goal of aligning to our clients’ evolving needs while prioritizing the well-being of our associates and their professional growth. As approaches to return to office (RTO) evolve, our hybrid work arrangement remains progressive, balanced, and aligned with our cultural pillars,” says the firm.
