Despite addressing issues of cultural bias, the woman expressed her fondness for Bengaluru, stating, “I love this city, and I will definitely come back.” Her comments have elicited mixed reactions online, with many engaging in discussions about the contribution of North Indians to the city’s diverse identity.

With over 600,000 views and numerous comments and shares, X users had varied reactions to the video.

One user defended the woman’s statement, saying, “I don’t see anything wrong in her statement! Kannadigas travel to other places as well and don’t face this kind of hate in the north. Even if they struggle with Hindi, most people adjust with them, ” Another user commented “i mean the amount of north Indians running Bangalore is astonishing she is not wrong.” Others, however, emphasized that attitude significantly influences how people are perceived.

Some users pointed out Bengaluru’s diverse workforce. One remarked, “Most startup founders and employees in Bengaluru are from other parts of India. Why create an unwanted divide over language? This wasn’t even a discussion before the Karnataka elections.”

On the other hand, one user agreed with the woman until her last point, stating, “I was agreeing with her throughout until that last sentence. We can’t credit only North Indians for what Bengaluru is, but at the same time, we can’t deny the hatred by locals towards non-Kannadigas.”

Another comment expressed the sentiment, saying, “Everyone has contributed to the city’s growth. Why the hate against North Indians?”
