Nashik is on the verge of a major infrastructure leap as the state government has approved the long-awaited Ring Road around the city, allocating ₹3,954 crore for its construction. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also approved a special provision to begin work as soon as 50% of the land acquisition is completed, highlighting the priority given to this strategic project.

The bypass will circle Nashik city, providing smoother traffic flow and enhanced connectivity, especially with the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela in mind. Of the total 66.15-kilometer highway, 14 kilometers pass through urban areas, while the rest traverses rural regions. The overall estimated cost of the project stands at approximately ₹7,900 crore, to be shared by the central and state governments. Officials anticipate that this development will accelerate city expansion and boost comprehensive urban growth.

During a key meeting on state infrastructure projects held on Tuesday, the 27th, at the Mumbai Secretariat, the state’s share of ₹3,954 crore was approved for the Nashik Ring Road. The Chief Minister directed the authorities to expedite the land acquisition process to ensure timely progress.

Land from 1,960 plots across 25 villages will be required for the project. The district administration has already initiated the process, keeping in view the strategic importance of completing the road before the Simhastha Kumbh Mela. By allowing construction to begin once half of the required land is acquired, the government aims to maintain momentum and avoid delays.
