DELHI – A Redditor has expressed frustration over a series of inconveniences experienced at Delhi’s Terminal 1, including a delayed SpiceJet flight and exorbitant food prices at the airport. The user shared their experience on Reddit, which has since garnered significant attention and over 600 upvotes.

In the post, the traveler described arriving at the airport early, only to find that the lounge was under renovation. As a result, they were forced to eat at a food outlet with what they deemed “outrageously overpriced” menu items. According to the Redditor, a cup of tea cost ₹200, coffee was priced at ₹300, and a serving of rajma chawal (rice with kidney beans) was ₹400. Additionally, they complained about the lack of seating near the food outlets.

The frustration was compounded by a delay in their SpiceJet flight. Initially scheduled to depart on time, the flight was delayed by an hour. Passengers then had to wait an additional 30 minutes after boarding before the aircraft took off. At 12:30 PM, travelers were informed that the flight would now depart at 2:45 PM.

The post, shared on August 25, sparked a flurry of comments from fellow Redditors. Reactions ranged from suggestions to bring food from home to criticisms of SpiceJet’s service. One user remarked, “These are pretty common rates at airports. T3 has a huge variety of food options, so you must have missed that section. SpiceJet’s service is lacking, though.”

Another commenter shared their own negative experience with SpiceJet, saying, “Never travel with SpiceJet. Once, my flight was delayed from 3:30 PM to around 9:30 PM. Since then, I’ve avoided this airline.”

A third user advised, “Airport food is expensive everywhere. It’s like complaining about sand at the beach. You should prepare better for such expenses.”

The post highlights ongoing issues with airport amenities and airline services, reflecting broader frustrations experienced by travelers.
