Maharashtra SSC Class 10 Exams Commence Tomorrow
Around 31 lakh students, including 15 lakh Class 12 and 16 lakh Class 10 students, are gearing up for the upcoming ”Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education examinations.” To guarantee a fair and secure examination process, the state board has taken significant steps to prevent cheating.
The Class 12 exams are scheduled to commence on ”February 21, with Class 10 exams starting on March 1”. The state board has already provided hall tickets to all eligible students. Recognizing the historical challenges of cheating, impersonation, and leaked papers on social media, the board assures that strict measures are in place this year to prevent such malpractices.
Implementing a copy-free campaign, the state board offers an extra 10 minutes to students during exams. ”The Class 12 exams will take place at 3,320 centres, while Class 10 exams will be reserved at 5,086 centres across the state.” Notably, the number of science stream students in Class 12 equals the combined count of arts and commerce students. The majority of Class 12 examinees come from Pune and Mumbai regions.
This year, practical exams will be marked online, and custodians transporting question papers must activate GPS on their devices while recording a video during paper collection. The flying squad, responsible for monitoring exams, has changed, with members receiving new ID cards and senior teachers joining the squad to ensure a patient and supportive approach toward students.
Sharad Gosavi, chairman of the state board, emphasized that ”officials have been thoroughly briefed through video conferencing, and all necessary measures are in place to conduct exams smoothly.” Students are encouraged to face the exams stress-free, as the board is committed to maintaining integrity and fairness throughout the examination process.
