16-year-old girl hangs herself to death in Pune's Yerwada
The reason behind the suicide is still unknown. Yerwada Police are conducting an investigation.

Yerwada: A 16-year-old teenager identified as Tanisha Shantaram Manmore from Yerwada committed suicide by hanging herself after a party at home with her friend. The incident involving underage drinking has shocked Yerwada and others around. Her friend who was with Tanisha has been found psychologically unconscious and is undergoing treatment in Sasoon Hospital.
However, the exact reason for Tanisha’s suicide is still not certain. Yerwada police are further investigating the case. As per the information, Tanisha was residing in Lakshmi Nagar, Yerwada. She was a student at a local college, while her mother is a local vegetable vendor. On Monday (15th July), two female friends had a party at Tanisha’s house where they were involved in excessive underage drinking, resulting in one of them being found in an unconscious state.
The incident was revealed when one of the friends of Tanisha called a boy, a neighbour of the deceased teenager around 8 pm in the night by telling him to come inside. He entered and saw that Tanisha had hanged herself and he got her down. He tried to gain her consciousness, however, she was dead. He immediately informed Tanisha’s mother about the same.
Tanisha was taken to the hospital but the doctors declared her dead upon arrival. The Yerwada Police have registered a case of unexpected death as of now.
On the other hand, Tanisha’s friend who was also unconscious and admitted to the hospital by her parents, was also under the influence of alcohol. As soon as the information about the incident came into the picture, Yerwada police rushed to the location. It was reported that after the party, the girls had vomited. Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Kumar Shelke is taking charge of this case to further investigate the reason for her death and the condition of her friend.
