1,65,000 apply to procure single day permit to consume liquor in Pune
A case will be registered if liquor is consumed or sold without a license.
The state excise department has received lakhs of applications from the residents of Pune for one-day liquor permit. A large number of liquor licenses have also been distributed to beer bars and hotels this year as compared to last year.

The cost of one day permit is Rs 5. Applicants will get these permits from a beer shop or beer bar permit room in the city.
On December 31st, the State Excise Department is going to keep a watch on alcoholics. A case will be registered if liquor is consumed or sold without a license. For this, 10 special teams will be deployed on duty. During the night patrolling unauthorized dhabas, farmhouses, and suspicious vehicles will be checked, informed Superintendent of State Excise Department, Charan Singh Rajput.
In the month of December, 240 cases have been registered in connection with an unauthorized sale of liquor. As many as 17 vehicles with goods worth Rs 50 lakh have been seized.
