175 people screened at eye-check up camp held by Rotary Club of Pune Amanora

The Rotary Club of Pune Amanora with the help of an eye hospital had organised a free eye check-up camp for the residents, househelp, cleaning staff and security personnels of Amanora Township here.

Rotary Club’s members volunteered at the camp and helped the medical staff to conduct the screening. The check-up was done by the optometrist and medical team of Asian Eye Hospital. In the camp, people were examined for common eye problems, near and far vision and free spectacles were provided. Around 175 people were screened on 18 March, 2023 and 95 of them were provided with free spectacles.

Speaking about the initiative, Shashi Singhee, Administration Director, Rotary Club of Pune Amanora said: “Rotary’s ethos believes in giving back to society. The eye screenings will help the needy identify the exact problems with their eyesights and the generous donations from the club members will help them get better vision via free eyeglasses which will increase their quality of living.”

Saraswati Venkataraman, President and Manju Rastogi, Secretary of Rotary Club of Pune Amanora said “We shall continue to take such initiatives and organise free eye-check up camps on regular intervals.”
