2000 Bamboo trees to be planted in SPPU

Savitribai Phule Pune University recently announced that a Park would be developed within the premises of the university by the help of Garette Motion Technologies CSR funds of Rs 69 lakhs.

The memorandum of understanding was signed on April 15, 2021 in presence of Dr Nitin Karmalkar, vice chancellor, Pune University, Dr N S Umrani, Dr Prafull Pawar, Dr Apoorva Palkar, United for Nations’s Subodh Badve.

This park shall be developed on a 5 acre plot in the premises of the university.

The project is taken under the CSR initiative of Garette Motion Technology and United For Nation. The project would come near empty plot measuring 5 acres near Shivaji Statue, where over 2000 saplings shall be planted.

This will help the Bamboo center which is located in SPPU. This will also help in raising funds from bamboo plantation as well as for research purposes.
