31 Students Hospitalised After Eating Pani Puri in Nanded, Maharashtra
April 17 – Nanded: In a suspected case of food poisoning, 31 students from various educational institutions in Nanded, Maharashtra, were hospitalised early Friday after consuming pani puri from a roadside stall.
According to officials, the affected students are from Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, SGGS College, and a local nursing college.
“From 4 am onwards, students started arriving at Dr Shankarrao Chavan Government Medical College and Hospital with complaints of vomiting, nausea, and uneasiness,” a hospital official said. “All had reportedly eaten pani puri from the same street vendor.”
After medical examinations, the students were admitted to different wards. Their condition is said to be stable.
Pani puri, a popular Indian street food, is also known as golgappa in northern parts of the country.
