Pimple Saudagar resident receives best debut director award in 57th Maharashtra State Marathi Film Awards Ceremony

The 57th Maharashtra State Film Awards concluded today (February 22). Many artists were honoured in this award ceremony. The award ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Cultural Affairs Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar. Achyut Chopade, director of Marathi film Vegli Vaat, has received the Best Debut Film Director award.

Achyut Chopade, a resident of Pimple Saudagar, has received the award for the best debut director for film ‘Vegli Vaat’ at the 57th Maharashtra State Marathi Film Awards Ceremony.

Raj Kapoor Special Contribution Award 2022 has been presented to Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Raj Kapoor Special Contribution Award 2021 to Sonu Nigam. The Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award 2022 was presented to veteran actress Helen.

Achyut Chopade, winner of Best Debut Film Director award for ‘Vegli Vaat’ film, expressed his feelings & highlighted his journey in an exclusive interview with Pune Pulse “Vegli Vaat film was made in the year 2020. I had got Filmfare nominations during that time in which I won the Best Script award. This is a very big achievement for me as I was working in the field of IT for the last 12 years. Hence, this is a big professional switch for me.”

Highlighting his career journey, Achyut Chopade says “Switching professions from an IT field employee to a film director was very tough as I faced a lot of opposition initially. Also, right from making a film to getting it selected for an award nomination, is in itself very hard but fun. Hence, this award is a great achievement for me & I am feeling very happy & proud of it.”
