Pune, February 18, 2025: A remarkable journey of devotion and determination was completed by 72-year-old Suryakant Tukaram Sakhare and Rajni Sunyukant Sakhare, a couple from Pune’s Shaniwar Peth. They traveled a staggering 3,510 kilometers from Pune to Prayagraj on their motorcycle, covering the distance in 24 consecutive days.

Their journey took them through several significant religious sites, including ShirdiUjjainChitrakootPrayagrajVaranasi, and Ayodhya. The couple’s pilgrimage, filled with devotion and resilience, serves as an exemplary model of faith and commitment.

Suryakant Sakhare shared his experiences with the attendees, recalling that, a few years ago, he had thought of visiting Varanasi. However, when the Kumbh Mela was scheduled to take place in Prayagraj, they made a firm decision to embark on the pilgrimage by motorcycle. Despite facing numerous challenges on the way, they persevered and found joy upon reaching the Kumbh Mela. The couple’s spiritual experiences during the journey filled them with immense satisfaction.

The event also highlighted the themes of self-confidencedeterminationlovecare, and devotion to God. Notable speakers at the event included Parag Thakur, a renowned Shiv preacher, Mahesh Suryavanshi, treasurer of the Shri Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple Trust, and Hemant Rasne, MLA of the Kasba Assembly constituency.

The ceremony began with an interview where Sunyukant and Rajni shared their journey’s story, detailing the experiences, challenges, and spiritual awakening they encountered. Parag Thakur and Mahesh Suryavanshi praised the couple’s courage and determination, while Shreedhar Sakhare expressed his gratitude and concern for his parents during the journey.
