78-Year-Old Pune Man Arrested For Sexual Assault of 7-Year-Old Girl in Sahakarnagar
A shocking incident has come to light in Pune’s Sahakarnagar area, where a 78-year-old man, Madhukar Piraji Thete, has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl.
According to police reports, Thete allegedly lured the child to his residence with food before assaulting her and threatening her with a knife.
The victim managed to escape and informed her grandmother, who subsequently filed a complaint at the Sahakarnagar police station.
“The accused has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) and is currently in custody,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police Nandini Vagyani-Paraje, who is leading the investigation.
The police have confirmed that evidence supports the accusations, and further investigation is underway.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with locals demanding severe punishment for the accused.
