Pune: Forest Department Rescues Hyena Trapped In Chakan Industrial Premises
In a four-hour rescue operation on Friday, the forest department successfully saved a hyena that wandered into a private firm’s premises in Chakan and became trapped in heavy materials.
According to Yogita Nayakwadi-Veer, a range forest officer from Chakan, shared that the incident was reported at around 8:45 AM at the Impression System and Engineering Private Limited premises. The rescue operation was challenging due to the hyena being stuck, but the team managed to free the animal without the need for tranquilizers.
Following the rescue, the hyena was taken to the Transit Treatment Centre in Bavdhan for a health check. The hyena found was good in health and had no injuries and was safe to be released into the wild again.
