The situation on Dhruv Global School Road in Undri has become critical due to the presence of numerous large potholes, causing significant inconvenience and danger to residents and students. The road’s condition has deteriorated, making daily commutes perilous.

Ajit Gaurav, a resident of Nyati Eternity, shared his frustration said, “Every day passing on this road to drop my son is a nightmare. Adding to this are heavy vehicles and construction vehicles crossing every second. It is dangerous for students during school hours. We have raised a ticket on PMC Care, but it has not been actioned until now. We need action from PMC and our local public authorities for this basic ask.”

Yogesh Malani, resident of Godrej Horizon, echoed these concerns, emphasizing the safety hazards: “The bad condition of the road is not only a nuisance but a safety hazard, especially for school-going children and parents. We have seen a few accidents where bikes skidded during school time. We request immediate attention from the authorities.”

Gaurav Saxena, another resident of Godrej Horizon pointed out the increased risk of accidents: “Vehicles are prone to accidents. This route is used to commute to school, hence parents and their wards are not safe to commute on these roads.”

Addressing these concerns, Shubham Aswale, a junior engineer at the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), explained the cause of the issue. “The issue started as drainage work behind the school was going on. But now the drainage work has been completed, and we are trying our best to reduce these potholes within three days,” he told Pune Pulse.

The residents of Undri are urging the PMC to address the issue promptly to ensure the safety and convenience of the community, particularly for the students and parents who rely on this route daily.
