Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Assures Permanent Solutions and Relief For Flood-Affected Families
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has assured flood-affected families that solutions will be found to permanently relocate them to safer places to alleviate their constant crisis.
In response to the recent heavy rains, CM Shinde visited flood-affected areas in Pimpri-Chinchwad city today. He visited a relief center set up by the municipal corporation at Ahilyabai Holkar Primary School in Sangvi. During his visit, he interacted with the flood-affected citizens and addressed their concerns. Present at the visit were various officials, including Legislative Council Vice-Chairperson Dr. Neelam Gorhe, MP Shrirang Barne, MLAs Anna Bansode, Ashwini Jagatap, and others involved in emergency management.
CM Shinde spoke with residents at the relief center and inquired about the measures needed to resolve the problem of annual displacement due to floods. Some residents suggested constructing a high boundary wall along the riverbanks, while others requested permanent relocation to safer areas with proper housing. Shinde assured the residents that comprehensive measures would be considered for a permanent solution and housing relocation.

During the visit, CM Shinde also asked if the municipal corporation had provided adequate food and facilities at the relief center. Residents confirmed that the corporation had made good arrangements. The CM distributed blankets to the flood-affected residents at the relief center.
Flood-affected women expressed their gratitude, stating that the municipal corporation had provided them with safe relocation, food, drinking water, blankets, and other essential facilities. They felt that the government’s response had given them hope and a sense of security during this challenging time.

CM Shinde reviewed the measures and facilities provided by the municipal corporation for flood relief. Commissioner Shekhar Singh detailed the various emergency measures implemented, including a 24/7 central emergency control room, appointments of senior officers for emergency management, and the establishment of multiple emergency control rooms and relief centers with necessary amenities.
